The HTC Desire S is a full touch smartphone and the first HTC device to come with Android 2.3 OS (Gingerbread). Powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor, the Desire S packs in 768 MB RAM and the latest version of the HTC Sense UI. The user interface brings to the phone features like flip to silence, maps with compass, zero wait map and others.

The smartphone sports a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash. The camera can record 720p HD videos at 30 fps. A front facing VGA fixed focus camera is also present in the handset for video calling purposes. Other features found in the phone camera are geo-tagging and face detection.
