The Modu T is a compact 3G touchscreen mobile from Micromax. The handset features an easy-to-use interface and runs Qualcomm's Brew operating system. Sporting a 2.2-inch resistive touchscreen and measuring just 11 mm in thickness, the Micromax Modu T is officially the most compact 3G phone ever designed.

The resistive touchscreen is made of 3 layers and requires you to put pressure on it to sense the area of touch. The resistive touchscreen works with any pointing devices like stylus, pen, or even nail. The use of pointing device makes the touch screen usage more accurate.

The Micromax mobile stands out in its modular approach in incorporating various communication and entertainment attributes. Modu's USP lies in its extreme versatility and the ability to morph into an armband mounted music player or a 5 megapixel compact camera, depending on your needs.

Design

The Micromax Modu T weighs just 55 g, making it extremely portable and compact. The Micromax mobile enables users to personalize their mobile's looks and functions by simply inserting it into a range of unique phone enclosures, referred to as as Modu Jackets/Mates.

Unlike other mobiles, where the skins/cases serve as a mere aesthetic alteration, the Modu Jackets can oftenchange core attributes like display size, imaging capabilities, battery life, memory and even the phone interface.

Battery and Storage

The storage space in the Modu T is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD cards. A 500 mAh Li-ion Battery powers the Micromax mobile, and gives a talk time of up to 3 hours and standby time of up to 192 hours.

Connectivity and Features

There are around 7 Modufy jackets released so far, including a mini-GPS jacket, a full QWERTY enclosure, a photoframe and a powerful desktop speaker, however, the initial offering from Micromax is limited to the Sportify Armband and the Camerfy jackets.

The Camerafy Jacket transforms the Modu T into a compact camera with video recording capabilities, besides adding a plethora of image tweaking functionalities. The Sportify Armband lets you listen to music on-the-go and also throws in hands-free calling and music via loudspeaker function. The Modu supports MP3, MIDI and WAV formats.

The Micromax Modu T supports 3G, Wi-Fi and GPRS net connectivity. File transfers are enabled via Bluetooth and micro USB port. The mobile supports numerous downloadable apps for instant social networking access toFacebook, eBuddy, Flickr, Twitter and Google services like YouTube and Google Search.
